Someone who has had a similar problem? Is it possible solve using some configs or just replacing the board? I've already tried adding 'tosuspend' to the '/etc/default/grub' but this doesn't work. I know that these ports are on the I/O board which contains audio and ethernet ports that are working perfectly. Either situation will probably require you to send your notebook in for warranty service.I installed Xubuntu 14.04 LTS on a Dell Inspiron 14R N4110 notebook and recently the USB 3.0 ports (blue ports) has intermittent operation.

Intel usb 3.0 host controller this computer does not driver#
If you do not see any USB 3.0 controllers in the Device Manager, then you've either got a device driver installation problem or a hardware problem. My GT80 is using version 3.0.3.60 and I haven't had anly problem with my USB 3.0 ports recognizing USB 3.0 devices, including a fast external RAID array that I use for backups.

Next, boot into Windows and run the Windows Device Manager and expand the "Universal Serial Bus controllers" section. If one or more settings are amiss, this could be the source of the problem. Here is how mine are configured:īoot your GT70 into its BIOS (press and hold the Delete key during startup until the BIOS manager appears). The BIOS of your GT70 probably has "USB Configuration" settings.
